With spring finally here, it’s time to get planting. I’ve waited a long time, perhaps too long. Good thing Oklahoma has a long growing season. Most times, I’m able to harvest tomatoes until November. Which is a good thing, considering for some odd reason that most people who grow tomatoes up here don’t actually get flowers until August and tomatoes until late September.
I’m trying to start plants from seeds this year. I’m normally not so good at growing plants from seed, but I’m hoping this year will be different. I’ve discovered the art of soaking seeds. Place your seeds in a cup of water and soak at least 8 hours, but no more than 24-48 hours, depending on the type of seed. The sow as directed on the seed package. We’ll see how it works out.
Say a prayer for me and cross your fingers. Hopefully this time we don’t have to resort to buying plants!
